From the Owner:

I’m LaTonya, but you can also call me LJ. I’m originally from and am located in the Chicagoland area. I’ve worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years as a compliance professional.

I have been working since I was fifteen years old. A strong work ethic has been the cornerstone of my upbringing since my parents believed in their children working while also in school.

My first exposure to daily money management was when I volunteered at non-profit organizations when I lived in Bloomington, IL. As a volunteer bill payer, I performed the following:
* Opening and organizing clients’ mail
* Setting up a filing system for clients
* Developing budgets for clients
* Paying bills and balancing bank accounts for clients
* Writing checks for clients to sign to pay their bills
* Writing letters to creditors on behalf of clients

I’m passionate about helping and educating people about finances. I currently volunteer as a Money Mentor as part of the University of Illinois Extension Money Mentor Program, a community development program.
